Hi, I’m Alexcia, the founder of SOTA - a state-of-the-art nail and makeup salon built from a passion that started when I was just 14. My journey began humbly in a garden shed, where I practiced nails on friends and family after school. That early love for beauty quickly grew into something more as I started working in my mum’s salon on weekends, learning the ropes and dreaming bigger every day.

With the constant support of my family and friends, I was able to qualify faster than expected and turn my passion into a career. As our client base grew, so did our vision - and eventually, we outgrew the original space. That’s when SOTA was born: a modern, accessible, and welcoming salon designed to offer high-quality services in a local setting.

While nails are my first love - especially working with premium products like The GelBottle - I also pursued my passion for makeup, training with P. Louise and gaining hands-on experience in my local area. I took on prom season just a year after my own, and have continued to embrace every challenge and opportunity to grow within this amazing industry.

As SOTA expanded, I wanted to give back by creating something more - which led to the launch of our under 16’s makeup courses, providing young girls a chance to learn in a safe, relaxed, and inspiring environment. Now, I’m excited to take the next step: launching online makeup mastery courses right here on our website, making education more accessible for aspiring artists everywhere.

SOTA was created from a dream, a shed, and a whole lot of hard work - and I’m so proud of what it’s become. I can’t wait to welcome you to the salon or connect with you through our online courses.
